The 2024 PhD Thesis Prizes of the French Society for Developmental Biology have been awarded and it is another very good year for the IBDM:
The main PhD Thesis Prize goes to Sanjay KARKI (Team ‘Organisation and dynamics of biological forms’) for his work on ‘Evolutionarily conserved mechanical function of serotonin signaling during morphogenesis’ (thesis supervisor T. Lecuit).
Jérôme AVELLANEDA (Team ‘Muscle dynamics’) receives an accessit prize for his work on ‘Investigating mechanisms of mitochondrial dynamics during flight muscle development’ (thesis supervisor N.Luis/F. Schnorrer).
The accessit prize is shared with Julie FIRMIN (Institut Curie, Paris) for her work on ‘Mechanics of human embryo compaction’ (thesis supervisor J-L. Maître).
Congratulations to the three laureates, in particular Sanjay and Jérôme!
